"Home is the nicest word there is"

So said Laura Ingalls Wilder.

And now that we're home from vacation, I can heartily agree with her.

Sure there's a pile of laundry. The to-do list is still there. In fact, I believe there are 4 or 5 of those lists floating around the house. And coming home means no more (extreme) sleeping in. No more sound of waves rolling on the shore. The concept of regular trips for ice cream is gone. But! Jane Austin has it right when she says this:

Our vacation was so nice. Good company, lovely location, educational 'field trips', lots of sun. But coming home was extra nice. Love home! Can't help but reflect on how incredible it will be to go to our eternal home! A perfect home. What sweet things to anticipate - what joy it is to live with the hope of that home because of Christ's sacrifice.

By the way - Happy 4th to our American daughter and our American friends! And a Belated 145th to the true north strong and free!

Leaving you with a vacation shot - Hadassah could've spent a.l.l. d.a.y. on the beach!
