Because I did something crazy today. Crazy and ridiculous and, well...
crazy.
I pre-registered for Run or Dye. I've urged a friend of mine to do the Couch to 5K together and we've pre-registered for a race.
AHHHHHHH!!!
I've often watched runners glide by my car window and think "I do really like the idea of running. The introvert in me would love an open road and time and quiet." And I tried the Couch to 5K once before, quitting at the end of week 3 for reasons unremembered.
But I'm about to leave the house to meet up with this friend of mine to do our first run together. OK, ok. It's the Couch to 5K, to it's technically half run, more than half walk. But it's a start!
And I'm doing it people! I'm doing this!
Here's hoping I love it.
(eek!)
HOORAY!!! You are an inspiration...I may have to start up again too. Way to go...hope you fall in LOVE with running :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE this post!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh yay! Running is great and you'll love it! I have to admit that I've gotten out of the habit, but hmm, maybe I'll have to put on my runners as well!
ReplyDeleteOh, fun! I've been thinking about starting c25k again...just tired by the end of the day. Hmm, sounds fun! Hope you love it. :)

Go Jen Go!! Back in Feb, a bunch of Jonathan's family decided we should all run in the Missisauga 10K. Well - being a "I'm tuckered out and half dead just running to my mailbox" kind of person, I settled for the 5k (with trepidation!). I worked myself up to it (gradually)and did the race in May and had a blast. I am trying to keep it up (though finding time to get out there and do it is not always easy). I hope you really enjoy it too . . . and good for you for asking for accountability! That was the beauty of this race we did - we had a good group of us doing either the 5 or 10k and we talked about our "training" constantly! Fun stuff.
ReplyDeleteYou go! I started running again a few weeks ago and though I still get sore, I do like the good feelings I get. :-)
