spring x twenty.nine

This is my twenty-ninth spring. And I'm loving it. Because how could one not get excited about these sweet little sights in one's very own garden:

"For the beauty of the earth,
for the glory of the skies,
for the love which from our birth
over and around us lies;
Lord of all, to thee we raise
this our hymn of grateful praise. "
I keep on noticing some rather lovely two-digit numbers in the forecast. Sweet spring-like winter days!

Now onto the twenty-nine bit. That's the birthday I celebrated a few weeks ago. And I simply must share with you the sweetest, most thoughtful gift that I received from my husband. He knows I have a love for all things "period drama". Movie or mini-series, give me Pride & Prejudice, Larkrise to Candleford, North & South, and I'm a smiling girl. Imagine the smile on my face when I opened one of my presents to discover this:

Pages of piano music from my favorites! Theme songs, medleys, etc. All spiral bound. And I love me a spiral bound piano book.

So if you stroll by my house to take a closer look at those tulips and you hear me pounding out the theme song from Downton Abbey, North & South, know that it's being played with a smile. Thank you Timothy! (who didn't limit his spoiling and thoughtful gifts to this - but those are for another day).

Enjoy your spring days ahead!

  1. What a thoughtful gift. I just wish I lived closer. I'd love hearing the sounds of the piano wafting across the garden :-)
